Garbage disposal in the port of Kaporo - Conakry

Just like many African countries, Guinea also has a garbage problem. A lack of infrastructure for garbage disposal and huge amounts of plastic are not disposed of. In addition to the health consequences for the population, mountains of rubbish and dirty docks shape the image of cities.

The "Port Kaporo" is a small fishing port in Guinea's capital Conakry.

Together with local organizations, our association was able to help clean the port. Our financial contribution was urgently needed to equip the volunteers with protective gloves and to finance the removal of the garbage.

The activity  was accompanied by a television team from RTG, who broadcasted a TV report.

A successful effort by our association, which has shown that a lot can be achieved with few resources and the right motivation.
